FREE XTERRA RACE CLINIC | Saturday, August 28, 2009
Taught by XTERRA ambassador and last years overall winner Ken Robins. Ken is a 5 time regional champion who has qualified and competed in numerous national and world XTERRA championships. The clinic will be taught on Saturday the 28th from 12:00 to 1:30 You can come down and take the clinic then pick up your race packet for the race the next day. Ken will go over nutrition before, during and after race, transition setup, swim, bike and run tactics and a slow pre-ride of bike course. Plus he will show you alot of his own tricks that he uses during his races. So if you just want to finish your first race or beat that buddy or friend come on down to this free clinic. Ken will open it up to all questions and help you with your transition area. Contact Ken at champxterra@yahoo.com to let him know you will be attending. Race Day Schedule:
- 6:00 - 7:30 am ~ Registration, Check-in, Packet pick-up
- 7:55 am ~ Pre-race meeting

- 12:00-1:30 pm ~ Post-race party
Packet Pickup and Pre-Race Course Viewing:

Saturday, August 28, 2010 - Race Packet pickup from 12
pm to 4 pm.
Course Viewing and pre-riding will be available also from 12 pm to 4 pm. -
Race Day Packet Pickup from 6 am to 7:30 am at the Transition Area.

Swim:
The swim is a 1/2 mile in the fresh water lake, Deep Pond. It consists of two
loops and requires you to exit the water after the first loop. Run onto the
beach for 10 yards and back into the water for the second loop.
Wave 1: Men 44 and younger,
Wave 2: Men 45 and up, all women, and relays.
Wetsuits are permitted, but they are not needed.
Transition Area:
Only participating athletes allowed in. You must have your helmet buckled than run/walk your bike out of the transition area. NO RIDING IN TRANSITION AREA. You must rerack your bike before going onto the run course. Run entrance and exit on one side, bike entrance and exit on the other. Only relays will have their own racks, all individuals can rack their bikes on any other racks.
Transition area will have strict security. No bikes will be allowed out without matching run/bike numbers.
Mountain Bike:
There will be two 5 mile loops on the course. The trails are groomed wide so passing should not be a problem, but if you are passing someone please yell out PASSING on right or left. If you are being passed please move over to let the person pass. The course will be well-marked with plenty of volunteers. There will be no water stops on the bike course.
Run:
3.1 mile trail run with a few challenging hills. There will be 2 water stops on the course.
Post Race Party:
Hot and cold food served inside Hayden Hall by Sagamore Service Group. Post Race Message Therapy. Great Raffles - Mountain Bike and many, many other items but you must be there to win.
